Basic of computer, I/O devices

Computers are electronic devices that can process, store and retrieve data. They are composed of hardware components such as the central processing unit (CPU), memory, storage devices, and input/output (I/O) devices.

Input devices are used to enter data and instructions into a computer. Examples of input devices include:

  1. Keyboard: used for typing text, commands and special characters.
  2. Mouse: used for pointing, clicking, and scrolling.
  3. Scanner: used for converting physical documents or images into digital formats.
  4. Microphone: used for recording sound or voice input.
  5. Touchscreen: used for inputting commands or selecting options by touching the display.

Output devices are used to display or present data processed by a computer. Examples of output devices include:

  1. Monitor: displays visual output such as text, images, and video.
  2. Printer: prints text, images, and other documents onto paper or other media.
  3. Speaker: produces sound or audio output.
  4. Projector: projects visual output onto a large screen or wall.

In addition to input and output devices, computers also use I/O controllers to manage the communication between the CPU and the devices. These controllers convert data from analog to digital format and vice versa, as well as manage the transfer of data between devices and the computer.

Overall, the basic components of a computer and I/O devices play a crucial role in the overall functioning of a computer system.
